PsychicGoldfish Scribblings
Here are some things I've written over the years. Enjoy!
- For those of you looking to expand your vocabulary, take a few minutes to learn
How to Speak Nathan.
- "What's in Nathan's pockets?"
Or, "Why I hate going to the airport." With a nod to Jason A. Goodman's
"What's in my
desk drawer?" page. I once thought that I was the first to do this kind
of thing. I soon learned that several people beat me to the punch.
(Originality is overrated.) The idea was developed independently, but,
in the interest of historical accuracy, Joe Nekrasz's
"What's in Joe's pockets?" page was apparently the first. Unfortunately, that page
appears to be dead. I guess it's up to me to keep up this grand tradition.
- On Toilet Seats and Consensual Delusional States,
a short speculative essay regarding psychological survival traits required to live
in modern society.
- On Tarring and Feathering, an archive copy of a
web-forum post I made a while back. Yes, I am that vain.
- On the Santa Claus Conspiracy, another archive
copy of a web-forum post.
- On Cellphones and Urban Violence, an account of
a man on the edge. And the piece of personal technology that came along and gave
him a big ol' push.
- Take a look at a few
sketches and write-ups I've made for various
RPGs over the years.
- And while we're on the subject of imaginary worlds and roleplaying games, take a look at
The Diary of Moriash Spindrifter. (Warning: Not for those with modest Internet
connections.) It started out as a screenshot
gallery for the Star Wars Galaxies
MMORPG, but kind of got out of hand. (In the same way Chernobyl "got out of hand.") It's now part screenshot
gallery, part aimless fan fiction. I've quit playing SWG, so I have little incentive to finish the story beyond
completing the next couple of chapters from the screen caps I already have... Someday, when I get
especially bored. If you only read one, try "Deliveries" first. It took the longest, and is the best
of the mediocre lot.
- Here's some short Random Speculations and
Observations of no particular merit or value. Every once in a while, I
just need to rant, rave, ponderate, and effuse. Don't we all?
- For a couple years, I had a weblog, the
PsychicGoldfish Telepathic Transmissions.
After a bad few months of silence, broken only
by the occasional "Hey! Look at this link," I decided to let it expire. You're welcome to obsessively read
every single entry, of course. But here are some of the better entries:
Question? Comments? Complaints? Indecent Proposals? Death Threats?
Leave me a comment now!
