Note: After joining the two rolls of tape together by the 60" overlap, the user may opt
to either secure the ends of the overlapped segments to the rolls with tape or leave them
unsecured.
The secured case is somewhat stronger, and leaves no exposed adhesive after use. This is
advantageous if the user intends to salvage and reuse the bola (such as in practice exercises).
The unsecured case allows additional tape to peel off of the roll on impact, exposing a length
of adhesive on the ends near the rolls. While this single layer of tape is not as strong as
the doubled segment, the exposed adhesive makes it more effective at entangling the target.
However, once used in such a manner, the bola is more difficult to salvage and reuse.
